The Untold Battle Between Politics And Small Waste Companies And What There Is In For You

February 05, 20244 min read

If you open online magazines in our field, you can find daily news about activating new bills and acts to save the planet.

That’s what they claim.

Or better, what politicians claim.

The question is why, before creating all these acts and bills, they didn’t involve you and your company locally or at the state level to understand the situation and activate a system where you and your company would be part of the process.

There are two possible answers to this question.

The first and easy one is that they want to stay “super partes” (above everyone).

The second one, the true answer, is that they follow a plan mainly based on claims to preserve their political role. It doesn’t matter if you and your company are struggling because the new acts are not considering the technical capabilities or the technological development available in the city.

They are focused on themselves and their business: be politicians.

Suppose you think about what’s happening in some states where the regulations are limiting the use of fueled trucks for waste collection not because an e-truck (electric truck) nowadays doesn’t guarantee the same miles coverage and that to cover the same amount of roads of a fueled trucks are needed at least three trucks and that each one needs to be charged consuming thousand of kW. And let me add that they are not considering the pollution from tire consumption (yes, I’m talking about the small pieces of rubber released daily on our streets).

But even if everything seems against you, I have good news for you.

Think for one moment if the local government imposes the use of clean fuels for your trucks or cars, as it’s happening in New Jersey right now.

You could react by saying, “Shit, that’s another excuse to increase the gas prices.”

I understand your reaction.

And probably that’s something possible.

But what if you watch it from the business side?

Indeed, do you know how biofuels are prepared?

The most interesting for cars and trucks (natural gas and diesel) originates from waste.

Yes, you are reading right.

They originate from waste and processes connected to them.

Natural gas can be obtained from organic waste, thanks to fermentation processes.

A biodiesel can be obtained from plastics, thanks to distillation processes.

I’m sure you are  thinking, “Yes, but I don’t own any of these plants, and I’m not interested in investing in them.

Stop your thinking.

The opportunity in a situation like this perfectly matches the process you have in place: waste collection and treatment.

You don’t need to invest in other systems.

You have only to invest in educating your community about the new regulation and how you want to manage it to reduce the impact on their lives.

Indeed, it will directly impact all citizens: they will see the growth of the price per gallon every time they fuel their cars/trucks.

How to do that?

Using educational marketing content that you’ll share at three different age levels. Children, Middle Age (25-55), and Grandparents age.

You will use games and school programs to educate children about the proper collection and segregation of the type of waste you want to focus your strengths on.

You will use online and offline articles to educate the advantages of people in the middle age category, sharing the benefits for them. As I wrote, it is mainly connected with the money that will remain in their pockets.

In the end, the grandparent, you will educate them in places where they will be, like at bingos, churches and similar. In that case, the educational content should share the importance of contributing to creating a better world for their nephews.

But that’s not all.

If you educate your target but don’t create a solution for the amount of waste you’ll be collecting, you are only creating a new problem: costs increase.

Yes, because content creation and voice spreading costs money.

For that, the step that you should put in place immediately is identifying the companies that can be interested in acquiring the waste you are collecting to produce new goods.

Let me continue with the example of the fuels.

You should identify the companies interested in acquiring the plastic things you are collecting as waste or the organic ones to transform them into fuels.

Once you find them, you should create agreements based on the quantities you’ll be able to provide them, and you should also ask to have a certification of the amounts you’ll provide to them to demonstrate that your contribution to the cause is real.

Applying this strategy, you’ll transform something political into a business opportunity.

You don’t need more things.

You only need to change your point of view.

I know that from time to time, it is not easy due to the daily stress, so feel free to text me Strategy at +1(727)307-2695.
